Great Grove Bed Race registration is now open

Got what it takes? Good, cause the sign-up form is now open for the 2012 Great Grove Bed Race, which will take over the streets of Coconut Grove on Sunday, September 2. This is one of the Grove's big signature event, thousands of people crowd the village to witness one of the wackiest races around. You can easily join in, too.

Sign up forms are here online or if you like, stop by The Bookstore (3399 Virginia Street) and pick up the forms. You'll not only be part of race day, but you'll be part of all the lead-up events that make the Great Grove Bed Race so much fun, like the Pajama Pub Crawl and the Get Rolling Gathering, Bed Building Workshop Happy Hour.

We already announced that the winning bed from the past few years is going up for bid in August, so if you need a little help with bed building, this may be just for you. Keep in mind that the Bed Races are a great way to promote your own business or group and the money raised goes to great charities.

This year's Grand Marshal is still a secret and so are the judges, but like in previous years, you'll be pleasantly surprised by who they are! Last year it was Vanilla Ice and Real Housewife Cristy Rice was a celeb judge. Other years there was Tony Kanaan, race car driver and Helio Castroneves, race car champ and Dancing With the Stars champion.
