Confusion reigns with this year's King Mango Strut
We are not sure what is going on with the King Mango Strut, there are two groups now who are planning a parade for December 26. Above are Karen Deilke and Trina Collins at last year's Strut.
Keith Root, president of Coconut Players, Inc, has sent out a call for Strutters for his group's Strut, they were given the go ahead by the City to have the Strut on December 26 because they got the application in to the City first.
From Keith: "It's time to make plans for December's King Mango Strut parade. Would you like to be a part of the process? A group of parade vets that call themselves The Coconut Players has been chosen to produce the Grove's great event."
They're now looking for people that would like to serve on parade committees. If you would like to help, please contact the group at mangostrut@gmail.com.
We have reached out to the other group, King Mango Strut, Inc. about their plans, but they have not responded. Maybe there will be two King Mango Struts this year. Stay tuned.
