Coconut Players given go ahead to put on Strut
A new board was formed recently, by an offshoot of the original Strut and while it appears that the new group is also welcome to put on the Strut, the last Sunday of the year, which is the traditional date for the parade, is now spoken for. The two groups filed applications in June.
City Manager Carlos Migora informed both groups by letter this week that the Players group was chosen because it had submitted the application first.
Player's spokesman Glenn Terry said, "A decision had been made. Both groups consist of volunteers who have worked together in the past. We hope we can work together again to give the King Mango Strut a bright future".
