Now you can send us news via Twitter!

We jointed Twitter. We realized it would help us a lot and possibly you, too. You can follow us here.

For instance last week, we missed the fire, when it was right down the block. Someone is always joking with me that I need a police scanner, but with Twitter, someone could have sent me a heads up and I could have gotten there before the tv news. I did receive emails, but that was after the fact.

Another example was yesterday -- at FedEx/Kinkos. I could have Twittered you all about the free food and they would not have had so much left over at the end of the day.

Perhaps during the upcoming Arts Festival, I can get an on-the-spot special at a food booth and Twitter the Grapevine Twitterers to come to the Gyro booth for free drinks with gyro purchase or something. Or maybe one restaurant owner can have an on-the-spot two-for-one special and I can share that.

And of course, I can just send you on the spot headlines if something is really big news like Shaq is at the Shaq 24 Hour Fitness gym right now, or Madonna is at Greenstreet. Or maybe I just need someone to meet me at Focaccia or Starbucks for coffee and I can Twitter that.
