Delicious gifts at Chandi Wine and Spirits
Paul asked me to take a walk with him to get a bottle of wine. He went to see his son upstate this weekend and brought the wine.
We went to Chandi Wine and Spirits at Mayfair (3390 Mary Street) and were served by Julia (left) and Nina. I got a few Christmas gifts there, too, this year. They also deliver, you may call them at 305-441-9463.

Never heard of them - these people come into the Grove open a shop and before long they close their shop and no one ever knew they were here. Why don't they advertise?
Anon 5:17,
Apparently you have not noticed that the Village Center is a fairly compact space, about the size of a regional mall. One can easily walk through the entire business section in less than an hour as I do a couple of times a month just to see what's going on. These small businesses should not be expected to have expensive advertising campaigns to reach locals who are too lazy to find them.
just the facts - you're wrong. It is not the obligation of the consumer to go searching for new businesses in their neighborhood.
Blind Mind,
Had you read and understood my post before going off half-cocked, you would not have found any suggestion whatsoever of an "obligation". The point is that anyone who is actually interested in the community can easily wander through the entire Village Center in a short period of time out of simple curiosity to keep abreast of developments. It is unreasonable to lament the relative scarcity of small owner-operated emporia and at the same time expect them to have significant marketing budgets.
That's absurd that I would go looking for new businesses. If I need wine, I would go where I know I could find it, not searching up and down the streets trying to find parking, etc. saying hey maybe there is a new wine store around here. Businesses have an obligation to advertise and make themsleves known - not the other way around. Kinko's has been here for months before they decided to have a grand opening. I just keep going to UPS. I know it is there - I don't wander the streets thinking hey maybe there is a new copy store around.
Anon @ 7:38 - Thank you.
just the facts - These small businesses should not be expected to have expensive advertising campaigns to reach locals who are too lazy to find them. is what you said. You are implying that we, as consumers, are so lazy that we do not know about this new business. That is incorrect. If the business makes themselves known, consumers will think of them as a viable option for purchasing goods. So, before you chastize me for "going off half-cocked", you might want to go back and read your own post and then make comments that dont talk down to the consumer for not knowing about a business that doesnt do anything to make itself known. And by the way, marketing your business can be done for very little money, and in many cases, free.
I shop there for my rum when in the Grove. Very nice and give the "Locals Discount".
Very nice and their prices are better than Big Daddy's. I'm a regular customer.
Keep it up guys, you have my business when in the area.
I shop there too, Anon @ 7:26, but I find their prices HIGHER than Big Daddys. Let's be truthful here.
