Village Council Kampong/FIU agenda item deferred
The meeting is still on, at 6:30 at City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, but the Kampong issue will not be discussed until their July meeting.

The Kampong/FIU people wanted to have their attorneys present at the meeting and they could not make it Monday, so it will be discussed at the July meeting.
We've received over 70 comments, and 30 shares of the story on Facebook, you can see the comments here. Of the over 60 comments, only one was in favor of the FIU school at The Kampong, so I'm not quite sure why the VC does not discuss this on Monday and just side with the residents who oppose this less than smart project without the lawyers' spin from The Kampong.

FIU has an aggressive world view on "GREEN ECONOMIES". It makes sense for COCONUT GROVE, hello COCONUT GROVE, about as natural green a world view as any name might conjure up. The Village Council, at the very least might consider to negotiate a trade off of land for a truly honest to gosh GREEN ECONOMIC COCONUT GROVE learning center.
