Bidding Adieu?: The Coconut Grove BID

From parks to parking to promoting special events, the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District – the “BID” – influences village life in myriad ways for residents and visitors alike. City leaders are now discussing how, if at all, the BID’s structure and governance should change under a new charter, in 2019.

Grove 2030 and the Coconut Grove Village Council invite you and your neighbors to a community forum on Tuesday May 15 at 6 pm, at the Coconut Grove Sailing Club to learn what, exactly, the BID does, who funds it, how it operates, and how residents may have a say in the BID policies and programs that impact their community. Audience feedback will be encouraged to help officials shape the outcome of the BID’s re-charter application.

The Sailing Club is located at 2990 S. Bayshore Drive.

How about a run down on what the new charter for the BID will look like?

I also thought the village council and Grove 2030 didn't have anything to do with the BID. Correct me if I am wrong please.

Thanks!

As a member of the Coconut Grove Village Council, I think its a swell idea for the Grove Community be a part of knowing what the BID is doing and plans to do. Come and join 2030 Grove on May 15th at the sailing Club 6 PM .. and learn and offer your ideas. Steve Dloogoff
