I have an idea for the Chamber's next office

The Coconut Grove Chamber of Commerce is looking for a new home. They are moving from their current office on Florida Avenue. Before that, they were at a small space on McFarlane. Gone are their grand days when they were in the Glass House, where Glass & Vine restaurant is now.

The Chamber can't even afford to rent in their own village! How is that for over-the-top rents?

I did come up with an idea though. How about a trolley car? I'm serious. They can pick a trolley, I think they all have numbers, so their address would be a certain numbered trolley and then there is where visitors, as well as locals can meet at the Chamber office. It will come to them. You would just wait at a stop for the trolley to come by and hop on and deal with the Chamber.

They could have a desk in the back of the car!

Installing the Chamber in a circulating Grove Trolley is reminiscent of a Floating Crap Game. Probably most appropriate. You would think that if the Chamber was a viable entity than any of its members or executive board would be most accommodating in providing them with a room in their office. BID, Woman's Club or one of the many empty shops that are holding out for bigger rents?

If the trolley doesn't work they can always move under the Metro Rail bridge.

The Chamber is a valuable resource for our community and its businesses. Most consumers (59%( think that being active in the chamber is an effective business strategy overall. It is 29% more effective, for communicating to consumersthat a company uses good business practices and 26% more effective for communicating that a business is reputable!

Importantly, when consumers know that a small business is a member of the chamber of commerce, they are 44% more likely to think favorably of it and 63% more likely to purchase goods or services from the company in the future.

Supporting our Chamber makes economic $ense!

Maybe they could share space with the Peacock Park community center on back side of the glass house. What is their budget?
