Getting ready for the Vizcaya Halloween bash

For the 29th year in a row, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is holding its Halloween Sundowner within the historic property and we're giving away tickets (worth $165 each) in an upcoming contest which will be announced in a day or so.

Live entertainment will include Spam Allstars and DJ A-Train. Bacardi will be providing the full open bars including the evening's specialty drink, "The Dirty Deering" which guests will receive as they enter the party.

There is the usual Outrageous Costume Contest, which will crown Best Male, Best Female, Best Group and Best Historical Costumes. Each year, the event attracts 1,000 guests, making this event a favorite among professionals. Proceeds from the event benefit the protection and preservation of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, which is a National Historic Landmark.

“Vizcaya engages the community and its visitors in learning through the arts, history and the environment. The Halloween Sundowner is a great opportunity to express your creative side, while helping us preserve this extraordinary Miami treasure,” says Joel Hoffman, Executive Director at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.

The Halloween extravaganza will feature alluring entertainment with bayfront music and dancing until midnight overlooking Biscayne Bay. It will offer five full bars.

General admission is $140 for members and $165 for non-members. Limited VIP tickets for access to Vizcaya's Inner Courtyard with private bar, specialty drink and catered food are available for $250 per person. To see all the ticket info, check out vizcayahalloween.org.

The Halloween extravaganza is Friday, October 30 from 8 pm to midnight.

Vizcaya is located at 3251 S. Miami Avenue. Free parking is available across the street.
