Good news for Sale Rack fans

Sale Rack is saying goodbye to their bricks and mortar store, but their new online store is up and running, and they are taking their show on the road. What does that mean?

Beginning in September, Sale Rack will be doing pop-up stores and trunk shows. I could feel their enthusiasm when I spoke with owner Allison Sagehorn and events manager Jessica Howard.

“We are thrilled about the opportunities that come with being mobile. It’s great because we get a chance to test out new areas, expand our reach, and try out new inventory that we haven’t carried in the past. We enjoy a very loyal fan base, and we’re looking forward to meeting new customers we wouldn’t otherwise know,” said Allison.

Two events coming up in September are:

September 12: Wine & Jewelry Night at Vino’s in the Grove from 4-10 pm
September 19 (and the third Saturday of each month): Jewelry and Craft Beer at
Barracuda on Fuller Street.

And they have big plans in the works when FAM night resumes in October. Stay tuned.

Sale Rack definitely carved out their niche in Coconut Grove, and they’ve set their sights on other zip codes as well. They’ll be doing a tour of different areas of Miami and beyond. Jessica said it best, “That wanderlust feeling has always tugged at our hearts, and we are now ready to embrace it and see where the road leads.”

Check out Sale Rack’s website for a calendar of events, as well as Instagram and Facebook to find out when and where they’ll be.

Sale Rack's leaving is certainly a loss to Coconut Grove. Pointe Group is certainly a buzz kill isn't it? How many businesses does that make now? And how many have they brought in? Is anyone keeping score?

Pop up stores & truck shows are a wave of the future, which I'm trying to embrace, what with Face Book, Twitter and their counter parts. I'm ignorant of the ins and outs of this new computer venue and I've hired a few experts to fill in the void. My new corporate hq's will be, of course, Coconut Grove and I hope to do business with the Grape to lionize my service; if not the Grape in the Grove, then who? I priced brick and mortar venues, but I'd have to sell a ton of stuff just to pay the rent, no thank you. Jobie Steppe

Sale Rack was a personable adventure destination in the old Grove. The new Grove (when it decides to sprout up) has some big shoes to fill. And a bunch of overpriced, stale boutiques that never change merchandise will not cut it. We need things to look at, personalities to draw us in. We need Sale Rack back!
