Festidan is back in Coconut Grove

After an small absence, Festidan is back in Coconut Grove! This would be the fourth Festidan in the Grove (one was that great block party in front of The Grove Spot and two were held at Peacock Park). 

"I've been referred to by many as 'the mayor of the Grove,' so it means a lot to me to be able to bring it back home for the ninth year of the event. The event has evolved from a tailgate, to a block party, to a pool party. All efforts to keep it fresh and different," says Dan Travieso, the creator and the "Dan" in Festidan.

"Being a 'Grove lifer,' it’s important to me to bring some much needed action back to our neighborhood. With all these new restaurant opening around town, I’m excited to see where the Grove his headed and I want Festidan back at home to be on board for the ride! Ideally I would love to establish Festidan as one of the staple Grove events like the Bed races, Mango Strut and Arts Festival. The one key element is that 100% of the proceeds go to charity, I don’t make a penny from the event."

The event is Saturday, August 15 at the Mayfair Rooftop for a pool party. It starts at 7 pm, there will be a happy hour as well at The Grove Spot from 4 to 7 pm. And then, late night, head to the Sandbar for a party. Dan celebrates his birthday each year, which is August 17, with Festidan, which gives back to the community. 

Musical performances include DJ Ethics, DJ Krys and DJ Kiko. The Donation is just $15 which goes to Castaways Against Cancer. You can also donate and get more info at Festidan.com
