FestiDan, the block party/concert to raise money for the ALS Foundation and Coconut Grove's Arts & Minds High School took over part of Virginia Street and all of The Grove Spot on Saturday.
The party included live bands playing on a stage set up in the street and lots of food and drinks. There was a $2 hot dog stand and lots of free beer which came as part of the $25 entrance fee.
It was a young, lively crowd, which was really nice to see in Coconut Grove. Little by little it seems that life is coming back to our village. We asked Felice Dubin, co-owner of The Bookstore down the block, what she thought of the event, she said, "I am for any contained event in the Grove that brings people here."
