Glass Harp Christmas music

Jamey Turner, from Mount Vernon, Virginia has been in Coconut Grove this week playing the glasses, what he calls the "glass harp." It's such a beautiful and haunting sound. Jamey tells me that it's all about chemistry, in fact, he knows so much about chemistry that he was made the cover boy of a chemistry trade magazine.

He just played a large party for Chanukah now he's playing Christmas music. he also plays the "wrench harp" and clarinet. Jamey has performed on The Tonight Show, The Kennedy Center, The Today Show, BBC TV, and so many more venues.

Today he's up in Busch Gardens making arrangements for future shows and he'll be back down here this week. Look for him. He may not be in the same spot, because you know, "liability reasons." He's sure to be thrown out by our local Grinches.  Look for him as you walk around the village.

The Grove is dead because someone can't play a "glass harp" on the street?

Well if that's all it took, then the Grove has always been dead, and we just didn't know it.
