Blue Starlite Drive-In delayed until July

Blue Starlite Mini-Urban Drive-In has been delayed until Monday, July 14 when at 8:30 pm, The Marx Brothers in The Cocoanuts and Angel on My Shoulder are being shown. The whole previous schedule stands, it is just moved back a few weeks, but the same shows, in the same order are scheduled.

Whereas other modern drive-ins are sprawling, rural affairs, the Blue Starlite is designed to happen right in the heart of the Grove. Creator Josh Frank decided this concept requires less space and is a more exclusive, more personal, and much more convenient movie-going experience. With a mix of nostalgia, and modern design, The Blue Starlite has tapped into a longing for a more social, less isolated experience. Since opening the first ‘Mini Urban Drive-In’ in Austin, Frank has expanded operations – with two locations now open in Miami.

Josh Frank is an entrepreneur, writer, producer, director and composer. He has penned numerous plays. He is the author of Fool The World, the Oral History of the Band Called Pixies (St. Martins Press USA/Virgin Books U.K.) and In Heaven Everything Is Fine – The Unsolved Life of Peter Ivers (Simon and Schuster/Free Press). His latest book, co-written with Black Francis of the Pixies “The Good Inn” was released in April by Harper Collins. Over the last decade, Frank has worked with some of the most interesting and innovative musicians, filmmakers, producers and artists in the industry.z

The Blue Starlite should bring lots of life to Coconut Grove.
