This month at CocoWalk

On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13, CocoWalk will host a family-friendly event from 1 to 3 pm in the Courtyard.  Fifi’s French Parfumerie will be on hand to guide kids in creating a custom memorable scent from natural oils and exotic blends. The carefully crafted oil will be placed inside a beautiful gift bag that kids can give moms as a Mother’s Day keepsake.

Everyone is welcome (guys, too!) to create a treasured gift for Mom.
Also, the Happy Card Lady will have blank cards, colorful pens, jewels, ribbons, and feathers to enable kids to create a personal message for that special mom. The young and talented Reef String Quartet will perform classic and contemporary music on cello, viola, and violins. In addition to brunch, Bice Bistro will offer complimentary Tiramisu desserts for moms throughout the day.

The Courtyard will feel the heat from Gypsy fire when CocoWalk and Bice Bistro present internationally-acclaimed Gypsy Heart in concert on Saturday, May 19, from 7 to 11 pm.  Hungarian-born guitar virtuoso Gyorgy Lakatos (right), hailed as one of the fastest guitar players in the world, will be joined by two guitarists from Jose Feliciano’s band now touring with Gypsy Heart. Their charismatic music is a cultural blend of Gypsy, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Rhumba, Spanish, and Pop. This show will be powerful and passionate, smooth and sophisticated. Gyorgy, who has recorded and performed with Jose Feliciano, Bruce Springsteen and Clarence Clemons, will meet fans, and have CDs to sign autographs.

 M. Peggy Quattro, CocoWalk’s new marketing director, anticipates the Grove community will turn out to enjoy this free event. “This is an exciting endeavor. Nothing like this has been done in the Courtyard before,” says Quattro, “if we get the support from the public, then we can make this style of entertainment a regular occurrence.”  For more information, call 305.444.0777 ext. 214, or visit the Gypsy Heart event page on Facebook.
