German Language Initiative Miami

We are a group of parents who like to expose their children to an education in the German language arts. We are joining forces to find schools (Public, Charter & Private) in South and North Miami that are willing to offer and expand the German Language Program.

Currently, only Sunset Elementary School offers an adequate German Language Program and cannot accommodate the yearly applicants.

Since Coconut Grove Elementary School already offers an International Language Program in French and Spanish starting in Kindergarten, it appears to be the perfect partner. The principal has been meeting with us to discuss the possibilities to expand their IS language program by including German.

This would not only be a great expansion of their program, but it would also increase the visibility and respect for the Coconut Grove Elementary School. This IS Language program is not limited to native speakers and presents a wonderful opportunity to expose children to a new language and teaching them to become global citizens.

We are currently collecting signatures and have posted more information about our petition on our Facebook page: German Education Initiative Miami . We will also soon be handing out fliers throughout the community.
