Urban Paradise Guild meets at Vizcaya this week
The Urban Paradise Guild (UPG) meets at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens every other Saturday, their next work day is Saturday, August 13. Many of the project take place in the shade.
They welcome Hands On Miami Volunteers and Volunteer Leaders who care about the environment. UPG does high-impact projects at eight UPG Locations around Miami-Dade, and they need your help.
Their mission includes:
Seedling Safari: Collect seedlings & pot up in the UPG Vizcaya Nursery in support of future Habitat projects at Vizcaya and other UPG Locations. This is great for kids and families.
Follow-up Organic Stewardship: removing snake plant and small solitaire palms, cutting up large ones.
*Monitoring the Atala Re-Introduction Project: How are the newly planted babies doing?
If you plan to come, you need to RSVP. To: sam@urban-paradise.org Subject: RSVP for Vizcaya + (type in the event date). You will then be sent a map with the UPG Nursery on it. If you don't RSVP, you will not find the UPG location. The worksite is not in a public area.
