IT'S GOOMBAY TIME! Come to party!
goombay
The Goombay Festival starts today! And culminates with the big festival over the weekend.

The World's Largest "Stepping" Party starts from noon and ends at 8 pm both Saturday and Sunday, June 4 and 5, Elizabeth Street to Douglas Road. This is the big event, the street party brings all the sights and sounds of the Bahamas to Coconut Grove. There's lots of live music, lots of delicious food and plenty of things to see and buy. Bring the family and party!

On Sunday, June 5, before that day's festival, there is a Gospel Service at Christ Episcopal Church (3481 Hibiscus Street) from 9 to 11 am.
Here are some scenes from last year's Goombay Festival.

Today, June 2 is the Pirates's Reception with the Goombay Family at Chili's CocoWalk from 6 to 10 pm.

Tomorrow, June 3, there is plenty on the agenda:
The Coral Gables Senior High class of 1969 will be doing a clean up of the Coconut Grove Cemetery at noon. There will be a Mini Goombay Parade at the St. Alban's Child Enrichment Center at 10 am. There is a Golf Tournament planned.

On Saturday, June 4, the Historical Pioneer Brunch will take place from 11 am to 2 pm at the Christ Episcopal Church in the Grove. Then the 2nd Annual Basketball Goombay Tournament will take place from 9 am to noon at the City of Miami Fire College Court.
