New Pan Am products showing up in Grove
A tv pilot is being filmed for a new tv show called Pan Am (funny, pilot, Pan Am). The show is set in the 1960s and revolves around a Pan Am crew, pilots and flight attendants.
Just in time for this is a new line of bags and accessories with the Pan Am logo, which was recently resurrected. In fact, the right to the Pan Am name now belong to an airline company that may or may not resurrect it.
All this fits in perfectly with Coconut Grove since City Hall, right on Pan American Drive (named after Pan Am) was the original Pan Am terminal. And not to be left out is Palm Produce resort wear, which is now carrying the new line of Pan Am items -- carry on bags and a few other leather goods. Palm Produce has two locations in Coconut Grove, one on the first floor of CocoWalk and one right next to The Bookstore at 2911 Grand Avenue.
And as usual, there still is talk of putting a Pan Am Museum somewhere in Coconut Grove. For more info on the tv pilot, see the CNN story here.
