New graffiti buster?

wall
This is the solution for stopping graffiti at the post office -- a trellis sort of thing along the wall on the McDonald Street side. We lost valuable parking spaces for this? I guess the greenery will be nice once it is covering the wall.

Stupid to remove the parking spaces.
That did not need to happen. But I know Harry G. has been talking about this for what seems like forever.
I guess someone listened.

Congratulations to Marc & Ron on your successful efforts to help prevent Graffiti being tagged on the Post Office wall by installing the trellis & plants. Are the plant bougainvilleas? This will go a long way in getting the Grove to looks its best. I am most pleased that our collaborative efforts with Ileana Ros-Lehtinen have resulted in a better Post Office & much improved gateway to our Village for all of us that live, work and visit Coconut Grove. Proof positive that good thing can happen when Grovites work together to make things better for all of us.

There were only 3 spaces to park there... this so does not merit the whining. I go there several times a week and never have a problem finding a spot.

What happened to the proposed mosaic mural planned for this spot? When you speak of a Gateway into the Grove, I know of two and neither reflects what Coconut Grove was, is or could be. That would be Grand Ave. and US 1 and 27th and US 1

The new plants are Passion Fruit vines (interesting flowers and fruit) and may also help keep that western facade cooler in the late afternoon.

There are indeed several gateways into Coconut Grove & a few to the Village. However the location of Grand & US1 belongs to Coral Gables. Please feel free to champion a cause that will benefit our community. It only takes a few passionate Grovites to accomplish good things. You don’t have to form a committee, talk it to death or complain that the candidates you elected to office are not doing enough. If you really want better gateways into the Grove (or other good things) then become a Citizen Activist & make a real effort to make it a reality.

Harry is begining to sound like a politician. Could that be because he has already been hired by the Regalado administration to replace Robert Parente?
who dat say they gonna say it like it is, versus talk da party line?

I think Harry could do a good job at it. Time will tell; but it's a positive.

I am curious as how being pleased with a Village improvement and suggesting the we can all get more accomplished as Citizen Activist be interpreted as sounding like a politician! That was a bit of a stretch. I guess it is just better to remain anonymous.

It just upset people saying mean things. Harry has always been involved. For years.

I think the politician reference was in regard to his kissing Sarnoff and Nelson's asses in the first post.

Anon 11:05,
Yeah, just because Sarnoff and Nelson were instrumental in bringing improvements to the post office doesn't mean you shouldn't bash 'em every time their names come up.

Have you ever read the Grapevine posts? Do you really think one story could be commented on without someone bashing Sarnoff? Alot of sad people with sad lives out there...

Calvin and Kneejerk - where are you???? I can't hear your witty retorts. This is the part where you're supposed to support what you said with fact - ya know, point out the "bashing" statement against sarnoff.

Guess you're admitting to just making that up... probably best.
