"Hop on, Hop off, Take off" coming to the Grove

Grayline Miami and Helicopters Over Miami have teamed up to bring tourists to Coconut Grove.
"Hop on, Hop off" is the bus tour being featured and advertised to European tour groups who are looking for something different.

Helicopters Over Miami has created their own tour called, "Hop on, Hop Off, Take Off," and the two have now combined to bring tourists to the Grove.

So basically, the tourist would get on a Grayline tour bus, hop off in Coconut Grove and then take off on the helicopter, offering special rates for those with Grayline day tickets.

Grayline will soon start dropping about 90 tourists a day in Center Grove as part of the "Hop on, Hop off" promotion.

Currently the The Waterfront Advisory Board and the Implementation Committee have issues with the helicopter service, right off the Grove shoreline.

The Waterfront Advisory Board meets Tuesday, January 12 at 6:30 pm at Miami City Hall (3500 Pan American Drive). And The Implementation Committee meeting is Wednesday, January 13 at the Ransom Everglades campus (3575 Main Highway) at 5:30 pm.

I am curious to see how this logistically works. Grayline buses seat 60 passengers, but helicopters see around 4. And where will tour originate from?

Hope it's OK that I mention, MiamiTourCompany.com brings 30+ passengers to Coconut Grove, everyday, and we offer free tours to the Coconut Grove Grapevine community. Give us a shout. :)

Gus to your comment, Grayline has several stops in Coconut Grove. Those passengers whom already purchased the "Hop On, Hop Off" ticket can buy a helicopter tour from the aboard crew or pre-purchase online.

We (Helicopters over miami) intend to have a limited number of tours a day. The Helicopter tours are located next to American Watersports jetski rental at Bayshore Landing Marina

Most of the residents that live in the grove are considered to be "rich and stuck up" meaning they always want things their way, and every little thing bothers them, just look at the beach, for example, they complained about loud music, and the law was passed. I love helicopters, and I dont have a problem with them at all, eevrytime one passes by my house I run outside like a little kid to see it, oh yea and I'm attending college now majoring in aviation so I can have the oppurtinity to fly a helicopter one day for a living :0) So this rich retards that dont like the awesome noise of a helicopter, go move to a cave! Good Job helicopters over miami... bring your service to Little havana we wont complain here :0)

That's great! Will Grayline be doing a real circuit like they do in the UK where you can go to different cities? Much success to them!

Anon got it right, this does smell like a typical Miami shakedown.

Helicopters over Miami is a great and original idea, which brings a one of kind experience to Coconut Grove. The Grove should be fighting for them and their continued success.

This is precisely the kind of unique draw the grove needs. Hope those at city hall can see and understand that, particularly D2's commissioner. However, I sincerely doubt it.

I am interested in the legality of positioning a semi-permanent landing barge over seagrass beds considering the amount of regulatory protection they receive.

Additionally, the original site of the landing barge was less than 20 yards from Island "A" which is quite obviously the main bird rookery of the Dinner Key Islands. At any given time there are hundreds of birds with nests, eggs, juvenile birds etc. on that particular island. I cannot imagine a helicopter coming in and out will have a positive impact on those guys.
