Great Taste of the Grove, Take Two
From 11 am to 7 pm, come out to Peacock Park in Coconut Grove for day two of the Great Taste of the Grove.
Gigi and I (shown here) will be working the rum booth, there's a special Blackberry Mojito we'll be serving up, we had a couple yesterday, they're delicious, even in the cold weather, it hits the spot. It's some type of blackberry liqueur with rum and club soda.
The restaurants will all be out, too: Ideas, Chart House, The Ivy, Al Fresco, Crazy Pianos, Panorama, Monty's, Atchana's Sandbar, Los Ranchos, CrepeMaker, Southern Experience and more. And live music will be performed all day including Campo Deluxe, Liset Alea and the Arts and Minds Jazz Ensemble to name just a few.

Should have been postponed to another weekend. Its too important to the business' around the park and the Grove in general...we need all these festivals for the revenue they bring. The only person happy it was cold and rainy was Sarnoff..if it was warm and sunny, there would be too many people drinking, socializing and having fun. Should have been postponed...
This weather was unfortunate. They should have moved it up to Grand Ave. where the MadHatter took place. This would have shielded people from the cold wind off the Bay and they could have ducked into a store front for periodic temporary warmth. The Ren Fest cancelled. Their situation is similar, right on the water..
Agreed. Should have been postponed. We have be counting on the business from this weekend for a long time to help in these slow times. Even if it cost money, would have been better than trying to hang on in this weather.
Was that what that was, a blackberry mojito!? No wonder it sold-out! Very tasty.
It was neat to see the vendors adapt their items to match the weather. Lots of soup, hearty pastas. The Mayfair shoppes even brought marshmallows and whipped cream to accompany their hot chocolate & coffee.
Such a fun day. Can't wait to see the pictures, Grape!
I didnt think it was that cold today but I'm definitely not the norm when it comes to cold temps down here.
I think it would be wise to have "Another Taste of the Grove" maybe in March after Art Fest has come and gone.
There were really lots of people yesterday -- the food vendors with the best food should be ecstatic. And it really was warmer at the park than higher up on Main/Grand. Plus -- the MUSIC was great!
