Getting rid of more peacocks?

I met one of the doctors on Micanopy who had something to do with the peacocks removal.

It turns out that the Discovery Channel paid for the removal, not the residents. And it turns out that the residents are prepared to have the peacocks removed again, when they feel the peacocks start to get out of hand again.

Just thought you would like to know.

Drats! I can see it now... This is going to be an endless battle like the hatfields and the mccoys. One group trying to save our beloved peacocks and the other one conniving and conspiring to remove them. What a waste! They would look so beautiful roaming the manicured lawns of Vizcaya but NO! They have to be crated and hauled off. Makes me crispy...

I'm astounded that anyone would want to get rid of peacocks.
What's the complaint?
Please inform me.

I hope they're not coming to the south grove to get rid of our peacocks. There still seem to be plenty around here, which is the way we want it!

Anon 7:41, I think it might have something to do with the noise they make... just maybe.

Also they walk in the road and slow down traffic (although this is probably a good thing??)

I have only seen 4 in the North Grove, all on same block of seccoffee.

Another person that I reported this to thought it was in the will regarding Peacock Park that the peacocks roam free. (I'm being a parrot, I know).

Does anyone know any details that could prevent this or at least have them removal NOT happen anywhere else in the Grove? I would hope there is some legal clout to do something.

Why would the Discover Channel care to remove peacock from our neighborhoods? I don't get it.

Peacock Park is named for Jolly Jack Peacock, the first innkeeper in the Grove.

I think we should reach a compromise between the people who want them and the ones that don't. We all live here together and we should have compassion for eachothers likes and dislikes.

How about we try to control the population and still allow a healthy number to roam, they do make our village so much prettier.

I mean, peacocks are a sign of good luck, prosperity and used to only be allowed on the properties of royalty in old Europe. There is something magical about them.

They do make an odd noise, but then again, have you heard the parrots fly by recently? ... or the helicopters?

Or the emergency vehicles or the neighborhood dogs?

Can we have them crated of too (except the parrots, I like them!)?

Our world is nosy, I personally like the noise the peacocks make, it is soothing to me and I wish I could hear it more often. But I can see how others may not like it as much, surly there must be a middle ground that will make us all content.

And yes, good question, why does discovery care if we have peacocks in our streets?

Discovery doesn't particularly care about our peacock issues. They care about making a television show, and their involvement was solely for that purpose.
