Do we covet Yard House? Gordon Biersch?
"Let me know one building in Brickell that isn't at least 50% occupied. There's plenty of people in Brickell. At least you don't see homeless/crackheads walking around Brickell. Brickell is the new hotspot for the young professional crowd. The Grove is for old farts and underage college students. Open a nice bar like Yard House or Gordon Biersch and i'll come back. And FYI there are bars in Brickell that close at 5 am - and all the rest close at 3 am. More than the grove can say."
I find it interesting, because while I am always for the one-of-a-kind restaurants and bars in the Grove, I do think we need more of a mix and Yard House and Gordon Biersch would be most welcome. I noticed that Pasha's and a new Mexican place are on Miracle Mile now and Coral Gables seems to be scooping up all the prime restaurants. We need some here.
If we could get something like Trader Joe's or Whole Foods, that would be a major coup, too. Even a Sweet Bay would bring people to the Grove.

I live in one of those Brickell Buildings that are not yet 50% full! And I still come to the Grove for my fun!
Should I repeat, Parking problems in the Grove are the crux of the problem. As soon as we get the Miami Parking Authority out of our hair then we can resolve the all our problems by building parking spaces where it is necessary, lower parking rates to stimulate the businesses and offer free off peak hours to attract more crowds. City of Miami has lost it, they do not understand anymore that charging more does not necessary mean more revenue.
Gordon Biersch sucks. Never once have I had anything to eat there that was above average. And their beers are nothing special at all.
Also, is it me or is yard house not in brickell? Because um, unless BRickel expanded to include coral gables, the writer is clownshoes.
Grapevine and fellow grovites, there are certain people we don't want hanging out in the grove - people who hate a relaxed atmosphere and love to act superior - this guy is one of them. I guess as and early 30s professional, I prefer the college kids, old farts to these type of pretentious ******.
Excuse me but what about all the crime we hear about at Mary Brickell Village, car break ins, robberies, etc. In fact I believe you just got more police there because of it.
Don't know of any Grove buildings that are not almost fully occupied.
Oh man! A Trader Joe's would be AWESOME!!!! I would go there every day.
I really don't understand the examples your reader presents: Yardhouse, in addition to being in the Gables as was previously stated, has only good beer to offer, their food is less than mediocre. And Gordon-Biersch well, I have no idea how they are still open. They used to have a decent happy hour on Fridays, years ago and now, show up any day (or night) of the week and there's barely a soul there. If those are the kind of venues he/she is suggesting, then I am perfectly content with NOT having them in the Grove.
Brickell also has the first Greenwise Publix in the area (or state?).
Why do we need another grocery chain? We have Milams which is currently expanding, the Fresh Market and Gardeners Market? Several Publix' within five miles.
Why do we need another Grocery chain? Because in most cities like NY, there are maybe 25 grocery chains and in Miami we have one or two. You like monopolies?
And Milam's is crap and always will be crap. Stupid question. Next.
This Brickell bloger no doubt is a Fox TV fan. He just has no idea what is going on in South Florida Real Estate. Brickell is just boring with really no sole, perfect home for this jackass.
Would love a Trader Joe's!!!!
