Brings back the old days of the two drug dealers who both lived in the Mutiny Bay who also were cleaned out in a sting by Miami PD
Geez, another blow to the local economy.
Good to see our boys in blue cracking down
where the hell is a fella to go now for his 'caine.....
Keep cleaning...
I agree. This is another blow to the local economy. Bring back the days of the Cocoaine Cowboys where the local economy florished because of the drug money flowing through the city.
Hope they got the buyers and the sellers on this one!
Looks like Brickell is looking to be the safer choice. I dont think they have cocaine drug rings up there...
Brickell could be safe from drug rings, but it is now the foreclosure capital. Which is worse? Who would want to live there? or move there? Even the bars close earlier then us.
Let me know one building in Brickell that isn't at least 50% occupied. There's plenty of people in Brickell. At least you don't see homeless/crackheads walking around Brickell. Brickell is the new hotspot for the young professional crowd. The Grove is for old farts and underage college students. Open a nice bar like Yardhouse or Gordon Biersch and i'll come back. And FYI there are bars in Brickell that close at 5am - and all the rest close at 3am. More than the grove can say.
Ok . 54 foreclosures in The Club at Brickell Bay. (The highest in all Miami Dade and Broward Ctn) 49 at The Vue at Brickell, finally 39 at the Jade. Anyone selling Real estate all know to swing your customers away from Brickell because we all know buying there is like buying into a Cancer building. Check that against our buildings here in Coconut Grove. Tony if you are reading this blog, please jump in. Tnks
Ok fine foreclosures are up but the majority of these buildings are being rented out by the developers. Sales statistics really don't represent the number of people living in these buildings. And 54 units out of 600 in one building doesn't really say much. The majority of these buildings are still full. For example, 500 Brickell, the Plaza...try to find an available unit in any of these buildings - and these are buildings owned by Related Group which has serious financial issued.
Look i love the grove - i used to live there. But Brickell is the hot spot right now.
So why do you follow the Coconutgrapevine? Why dont you get on to your Own Brickell Blog? Maybe Brickell doesnot have one? Coconut Grove is a Historic waterfront village in a city. Brickell is the business area of Miami. Yes there are Great Deals going on Brickell, yes I have sold some to first time buyers looking for a bargain. Not so in the Grove. Check your facts.
The last anon comment is one of the reasons people who live out of the grove don't go to the grove.
Lets not start the whole get out of here mentality.
And to further someones point. My brother lives on brickell key. And he is one of three people that live in his whole floor.
How did this post turn into a brickell vs. Grove argument? They compliment one another. I will occasionally end up in Brickell for a minute, but I don't enjoy the stuffy overpriced atmosphere, and would rather just throw on a pair of shorts and T-shirt at a long day at the office and relax with friends - you can't do that anywhere in brickell - maybe Tobacco Road.
You need a place for these new yuppies to try to act like hot stuff and a place for people who know who they are to chill and relax. Add in SoBe where everyone pretends to be rich and famous, and we've got it all here in Miami. That's a good thing; why is everyone arguing about it?
Everyone got way off subject here! Where did the sting go down exactly?!?!
Dude, you can totally score on Brickell 24-7. No question.
