Lots of fun at the Summer Rendezvous block party
The Summer Rendezvous block party on Commodore Plaza started off slow last night, but picked up steam as the night went on. It reminds me of a lot of summer block parties I went to when I was younger when I would visit New York each summer. It's got a great neighborhood feel.
Above are Bryan, Jessica, Jerrilynn and David at the photo at left and on the right: Matt, Evan and Ryan.
Last week she was the Statue of Liberty, this week a colorful butterfly. Who will she be next week? Daniela Viotti is usually our angel in the center of town. At right is artist Audrey Scott doing her thing right in the center of Commodore Plaza.
The crowds danced to two bands on either end of Commodore. There was a lot of foot traffic and lots of music, food and drink.
Art and music added to the party atmosphere.

Hope they do this every Saturday! That's what the Grove should be about, live music, a couple closed streets on weekends for people to walk by, artists painting, crowds just hanging out.. CI
It's still too hot!
It was perfect, I heard an accordion, saw lovers kiss, and just briefly imagined myself somewhere near the Seine.
The street needs more lights in the trees - it is far too dark.
