Fess up
If the email or website looks fake, the comment will not be posted. If the comments are all capital letters, they will not be posted. Also, I want to keep this from being a platform for the lobbyists who like to take over the comments section from time to time. Not this time.
I have gotten too many rude and libelous comments and don't have the time to wade through the crap. If you feel strongly enough about the issue, have the balls to sign your name.
This is all in reference to the anonymous mud slingers. If you would like to post anonymously, in a way that makes sense and which obviously is not mud slinging, feel free to stay anonymous.
Thank you.

The Comments should definitely shrink
Thank you, Tom.
I understand completely, but the stuff coming in is very nasty and cruel and only the lobbyists would be privy to most of this info. So I am not allowing lobbyists to use their smear campaigns here. They can go elsewhere for that. So can all the people with vendettas who want to remain nameless. I know who all of them are, they are worms who hide in the shadows and think they are calling policy with their vitriol. They use fake email address and spam people, they make up stories, they twist stories, they do anything to get their candidates elected. Not here.
Thank you Tom.
Way to go, I hate it when people won't put up or shut up and try to post anonymously. Where do these scared-e-cat fools get off tryin to pull that crap?
Yeah lets get rid of all the anonymous posters!
:D
Hey Grape, great stance, hopefully clearing the way for a forum in which true dialogue could happen, with people expressing their opinions and thoughts in a manner that may be more "persuasive" than "reactionary."
I will venture to say that those who like to sling mud with their words may start dropping out of the circuit, so likely you may end up with shorter threads. Oh, but they will still come back and read and check for entries constantly. -- Lili
The state counter is going through the roof today. So apparently they are coming back to check or relieved readers are coming back to enjoy the silence.
Oh, Postscript to Anon of July 20, 2009 1:04 PM
I hear you regarding that some people do have 'balls' may hesitate to use their real name if they have a difference of opinion, as some of the Grapevine readers who disagree can sometimes be very cruel and nasty.
The beauty of the No Anon policy is that 99.99% of those "cruel and nasty" posts come from Anonymous posters, so now you can opine away, without fear of being judged. I am 99.99% sure that regardless of what your opinion is, none of the posters who sign their names will sling. They will likely just try to persuade you as to see their point of view.
I agree with your position, Tom, but will miss some of the entertainment value...
I hope this stays only for the Mayors race.
I think thats a lot of people do not sign their name for fear of what some people with influence think.
Very HighSchool I know...
If people feel the need to mud sling and spread lies, they can libel themselves by signing their names. If they have intelligent things to say, they are more than welcome to post anonymously under any post here.
Please lets have good professional educated candidates and with common sense for City of Miami Mayor's election. The following are the deadline:
CANDIDATE QUALIFYING
September 4, 2009 First day to qualify as candidate (60 days prior to election)
September 19, 2009
Saturday 6 pm Deadline to qualify as candidate (45 days prior to election)
Otherwise it might just be better to abolish the City of Miami. We are managed by a two headed dragon they are both a disaster.
Where is Mr. Stern? Please save us. YOU WERE RIGHT!
I am not a lobbyist, but believe there are too many good qualified individuals that reside in the Grove that should consider running for Mayor. This week you will all learn the financial deficits going on in the City of Miami. The mayor and commissioners are all to blame. NO EXCUSES! These elected officials should give up their pensions which they just acquired for only two terms. For example, Manny Diaz.
