Monday is half price taco day at Sandbar Grill

sandbar1
If it's Monday, it's half price taco day at the Sandbar Grill (3064 Grand Avenue). This is the scene last Monday, it gets crowded for half price taco day.

We love the fish tacos. They have 'em grilled, blacked or baja style, which is sort of fried. You can get them with Mahi Mahi or Salmon, the salmon comes only grilled or blackened.

I think the lime is very integral to the whole thing. You gotta have lime.

Not only fish tacos are half price, but all tacos are half price on Mondays! Buy three and get a side dish for free.

Gotta love the Sandbar. 2 suggestions to boost business: include a clickable-mail link (http://www.sandbargrove.com/) and change the name to "SandBra Grill" (as I just inocently mistyped to peruse their menu..) CI

Flour Tortilla on a Fish TACO? Black Beans? Yellow Rice? ABOMINATION. Obviously nobody in that kitchen EVER had a legit Fish Taco in the southwest. Google "Rubio's Fish Tacos" - BEST Fish Tacos - THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE MADE WITH CORN TORTILLAS!!!! ARGH!!!

Um, Mr. anonymous, why don't you look up fish taco especial at Rubio's and see that it can be ordered with a soft corn tortilla or thick flour tortilla. And, with chip and pinto beans or rice and black beans....Sorry grape, I'm just getting really sick of idiots saying that sandbar doesn't know fish tacos. This guy/girl obviously doesn't even know how to make a valid point.

OK, Sandbar lovin' grovite, I'll give you that I used a BAD example - but BELIEVE me - you typically are NOT going to get those options in the southwest. It's just wrong. Its like pineapple on a pizza - abomination. (ok, there's another argument brewing) Just because you have the option doesn't make it right - But it's not just with this but with many things - as they get popular, you're going to have people making their own bad "variations". To give another example I've been to more than one "Mexican" place around S.Florida that used TOMATO sauce as the base for their "Red" sauce on my enchiladas - when Mexican red-Chile sauce has NEVER had any tomato in it - its supposed to be 100% Red Chiles. Does that validate it? Does it make it right? NO. I mean, what if you got a pizza somewhere that didn't use tomato sauce and swapped it with red enchilada sauce? Would you still call that a pizza? What about what those Colombians here in Miami are doing with good old AMERICAN-invented hot dogs (we didn't invent the frank/wiener, but we DID put it on a bun!)? They are putting freaking mayo and pineapple sauce on them - now that's an ABOMINATION. OK, Colombians - begin you're screaming in 3...2...1...
