I am now on a couple of committees
I am now on two committees. The first is the Arts in Public Places committee where we are trying to get those large sculptures to be a part of the Grove on a continuing rotating basis.
The second committee involves the new Coconut Grove Walking Map, which is in the planning stages. There is a dummy map out now, but many of us see problems with it and that is where the committee comes in.
The Map Committee will also be involved in creating a Coconut Grove brochure, something that can be handed out at rest stops and other locations around the State to show people what the Grove has to offer. The Walking Map would be similar but would actually be picked up right in the Grove and show people where they are and what we offer.
Advertising is also part of the plan of the Map Committee. I am hoping the Grapevine is part of that plan. As you know, we do sell ads and need them to continue publishing, so for those of you so inclined here are rates. I see so many Grove business ads (restaurants, stores) all over the place all over the state how about here where people actually get 99% of their Grove news?

Why do you need ads to continue publishing? Blogger is free.
Every photo and image you see here eats up bandwidth. Each time someone reads the page here, the bandwith meter clicks. Blogger doesn't give me that free. I pay for it.
5000 people a day click the pages here. That's a lot of bandwidth.
Secondly, I am doing this as a full time job now, neglecting my real biz, I think being compensated for running a daily "newspaper" is fair. Don't you?
I am assuming you don't work for free and you are paid for doing your thing daily?
If you will check what is going on in Coral Gables, they have just been funded to have a site exactly of what we enjoy on this blog FREE and it reports newsworthy tidbits of the daily going ons of Coral Gables. Now we don't have a social page but for those of us with interests in the Grove we are very well informed, there is even a calender so you miss nothing, I'd say that's worth quite a lot. I'm happy to submit images that have never been censored. I think right now The Grape has managed to stay away from taking political sides, let's support him. If you're reading this you're getting something.
To Grovey Tours: Unlike most blogs, all the stories here are original and all the pictures are original, not taken from other websites or clip art. This is the ONLY place to get up to the minute Coconut Grove news. Doesn't the man deserve to make a living at it?
If one checks out what the Grape prints, I mean really check out, one will see that the Grape prints a lot of lies just to have people bicker & bitch. One month the Grape will praise the new theater coming to Coco Walk, stating it will become an anchor for Grove Businesses and the next month report that it is not coming to the Grove. Just a little checking our would have demonstrated the theater was never coming to the Grove-----why bother to print such a story. Rather, form consensus predicated upon reality and work together to make something positive happen, rather than just print stuff as view through rose colored glasses.
I think the Grape reported that the theater was coming because the guy from Muvico and Mia from CocoWalk stood up before the Village Council and showed plans and charts and gave a big presentation about it. So I think Grape was reporting that story and not making up the news. Since that was the news and is on record and even recorded and shown over and over on channel 77 on tv.

I think you are a sick jealous bastard Jobie who is off his medication again. And I have heard that the Grape will be avoiding the Gifford Lane Art Stroll this year as to avoid you. So there goes the publicity we needed for the event. Thanks Jobie!
Maybe if you showed up at a meeting or two Jobie you would see where he gets the news and doesn't make it up fool.
The ironic thing here is that all the stories in the Grapevine are real and true and all of Jobie's art is crap imported from China. Talk about fakes. LOL
The only person i ever see bicker and bitch is Jobie who is a do nothing talker (and stalker if you ask Grape, who I know has notified the police about Jobie) -- sorry Grape, I am worried for you and this nut running around the streets.
Jobie is all talk NO ACTION. Instead of shooting off your mouth jobie why dont u join a committee and do something for a change. I see Grape daily at every meeting and committee. he who seems to only help the grove, not hurt it. he is courted by politicians and businesses and movers and shakers. you are courted by your deamons and crack pot ideas.
You jobie are part of the problem not part of the solution. your bad vibes and karma are only hurting you.
There's a big difference between lying and not having the latest information (or perhaps future information) about an issue.
If anybody lied, it was the Muvico people who stood up before the community last month and showed their plans and acted like all was well. Grape just reported what he was presented with.
And when the story came out about their bankruptcy Grape had it posted that same day.
Wow, some real venom out here. I'm curious to know if the "Jobie Steppe" above is the actual Jobie Steppe or someone else trying to start problems...
For what it's worth, Grape you're appreciated for keeping everyone updated on news, gossip, current events... all of which keeps folks like me coming back
