Tiger Tail traffic issues: Needs to be completely repaved, and repainted, it's full of holes and debris. Sidewalks and/or bike paths where possible would be nice.. If you noticed they just repainted for the 3rd time in about 6 months that little zig-zag stretch to slow down traffic (who's the big fish living there?), while the rest our Historic Tiger Tail remains in shambles.
I was wondering when the FPL issue would come up again after I saw this in the Herald yesterday:

Anon (1st comment) - Agree wholeheartedly that Tigertail needs to be repaved. If I was smart, Id have billed the city when a gigantic pothole took out 2 of my tires and one of my rims. Its the worst between Ransom and 22nd - pothole city. Unfortunately I dont think bike lanes are possible because property owners would have to give up part of their yards for that. I didnt notice the re-painting of that zig-zag thing but it was a total waste of tax dollars to put that stupid thing there in the first place. Sarnoff's grandmother must live nearby.
Tell me about it, Blind Mind.. I use Tiger Tail sometimes instead of S.Bayshore on the race-bike during rush-hour.. it's a mine field. Just trying to make it in one piece until we hit Key Biscayne with the nice bike paths all the way to Bill Baggs park.
I know all too well, after many years here that the shoulders of T.Tail are narrow on moest places, but if you notice, there is a 2 feet space, on the left of course on most places, after the painted line and before people's gardens that is enough for bikes, pedestrians and runners to use IF, IF they were smooth, not moon- landscapes fulll of holes and dirt.
Same for S.Bayshore Drive, where literally THOUSANDS of bikers/runnners/skaters/walkers try to exercise every week. There's a LOT more space there, to include a half-decent Bike lane for soooo many people trying to enjoy their lives outside, yet not many of us do anything about that, do we?.. And it would be so inexpensive, compared to our generous taxes, to pave, paint, and fix both Tiger Tail and Bayshore Dr. for both cars and the zillions of us exercising every day, if you notice, especially on weekends, 6-10 am, also weekdays.. trying to spend some time outside of our cars enjoying the Grove.
Guess the innumerable runners, bikers, walkers who read this know what I mean.. our so called "representatives" sure have no clue.
Carlos I.
I sure hope "traffic issues" on Tigertail do not turn into more of those zig zags, circles or street lights. Whats more needed is to fix the strret and find ways to deter rush hour traffic from using Tigertail as a short cut.
Anon (first comment) Did you get to the Gifford Lane Art Stroll? We know who lives there and that street was repaved twice this past year.
Anon @12:30, please specify what street was repaved twice last year? Certainly not Tiger Tail.. And who lives there, at the only zig-zag slow-down spot that gets so much attention and gets all the TLC? What's his name?
1250, the previous anon was referring to Gifford, and some of our city officials who live there. One being a well-liked Dave Collins, who seems to be the head of every group, without ever having been elected to anything. Guess who appoints him and is his best friend. Good thing he makes some mean cucumber punch (Am I the only one who thinks that sounds and looks awful?).
0324, amazing.. it's year 2009 in Cocoanut Grove, and we have some influential politicians taking care of their personal houses with our tax dollars, using their connections to repaint their front-streets the colors they like, and as often as they enjoy it, while the rest of the street is a veritable land mine. Awesome. No one says a word about THAT. i wonder if we pay for paint, landscaping, and other amenities inside of our so called "representatives" homes..
