The revolving door welcomes David Boardman
Only he is not really called the Postmaster, his title is Officer-In-Charge, a term used for an “acting” Postmaster, meaning he is on assignment.
I guess this explains all the problems with our post office. They are using it as a training ground or something, the Postmaster is only passing through, so rather than take care of the problems there, apparently they wait their time out there and then move on.
Another interesting thing is that our post office processes a lot of mail. Most don't. If the post office had a smaller branch, like that small one on Miracle Mile, there would be more efficiency. But now, the Grove post office is used as a "factory for mail," and does not have a permanent man at the helm. I think that explains a lot.

Welcome Officer in Charge. I'm glad to see the change. Just last evening one of my neighbors was telling me why she was not able to post her mail-art at this Post Office and she went to Pinecrest where they were polite and accommodating. They actually handed her the hand cancel stamp and allowed her to do her own. She vowed to boycott this postal facility.
Tradition is that wedding invites should always be hand cancelled as are first day PHILATELIC mailings. Can you imagine trying to get your beautifully hand calligraphed wedding invitation ripped by a machine. Yikes. Or can you imagine closing down this facility and putting this staff out of work due to a few. I have always enjoyed my carrier be they at home or here in the Grove.
In fact i've blogged about how wonderful THEY
are. http://oneearsociety.blogspot.com
Maybe our postmasters have been sent to Siberia, so to speak, after we have caused them so much harm in their permanent records. Kind of like the postmaster in that great film in the French Film Festival. Perhaps we should embrace this man and introduce him to the community. Maybe a little walkabout and coffee at Foccacia with some of his new customers so he knows what our community is like and feels a part of it? Tom, I will be happy to join you on such a diplomatic mission.
Well just by the fact that they have already given him the titel of "Officer-in-Charge," it seems they have sealed his fate. Sort of putting it into the Universe that he is only temporarly.
Sounds like a tempting offer, but this is more up Harry's alley, the meet and greet, I mean.
Yes, I heard from my mail carrier that he is temporary and they keep moving the main guy around at our branch. Strange.
If you've ever worked for the government it is a case of seniority. No matter if the young person new on the job, out performs and is more efficient. So if one of the women in front has more time in, it's nearly impossible to move her out, despite her poor attitude/performance. So instead you loose the young enthusiastic new talent because of the deadwood blocking the way to better pay. Possible with oversight of the Obama era this will change.
That photo is is funny, it looks like they are dancing in the office. I am going to Florida, Yippee!!!!
