The taxis may be on their way out

There has been talk about moving the taxis off of Virginia Street. Haydee from the NET office met with some of the drivers the other day.

Right now, they don't seem to be parking in the metered spaces, I think that day I was out there did the trick. They think I am a nut, but my talk with the police and the cabbies worked. They got the message.

Now the two spots in front of the Mayfair Hotel may make way for outdoor seating, perhaps for
Angelo and Maxie's Steak House, once the cabs vacate.

While I agree with the premise, I do hope the Cabs aren't completely extricated from the Grove. Getting one in less than 5 minutes could save a drunk driver from deciding to drive, and also makes the commute to the airport a lot quicker. Otherwise it can be a 15-20 minute wait for one to get here from up in the Gables, etc..

People, the cabs will be around the corner, 5 seconds away, the Mayfair guys will call them and they will arrive before you walk to the curb.

They have no right tying up every parking spot on Virginia Street and the spot in front of Angelo and Maxie's can be used for tables. Not cabs with their motors running all day long.
