Coconut Grove Pharmacy is now open for business

pharmacy
We wrote about the Euro Sport Cafe and the pharmacy in August. It looks like the cafe is not happening due to the economy, the space is still empty. But the new Coconut Grove Pharmacy has opened at 3001 SW 27 Avenue (across from Slice 'n Ice) on 27th Avenue and Bird.

According to owner, Adriana Vergara, "The pharmacy is a hybrid between a traditional and a compounding pharmacy." Compounding refers to drugs that are not commercially available and are custom made in their lab to satisfy individual needs.

"We have broad range of homeopathic remedies and an amazing selection of beautiful organic skin care products. But the best part of the pharmacy is that we are local, independently owned and care about our customers and the community we serve," says Adriana.

The pharmacy has an old fashioned feel to it. The hours are: Monday / Wednesday / Friday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm; Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 am - 7:00 pm and Saturdays 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

You may reach Adriana and her staff at 305-442-8700.

I recently visited this pharmacy and was surprised at how pleasant the atmosphere was! The pharmacist was friendly and helpful. I was able to find the Echinacea that I have been searching for as well as some great organic supplements. The products were awesome too! Most of the products are organic and I bought a whole bunch. It’s the first locations that I have found that carries my favorite brands Fresh and Pure, and a full line of Burt’s Bee’s! I would really recommend anyone to go and visit, it a great neighborhood pharmacy!

Ok. I was really skeptical at first, but decided to try Coconut Grove Pharmacy anyway.

I LOVED IT! First, the service was friendly and fast (which is more than I can say for other pharmacies). Second, they have some of the coolest bath products out there -- even my favorites brands! There are just not that many places that carry Fresh or Jaqua or Thyme! And all in the same place!

Oh,and by the way, finding parking was really easy.

I'll definitely go back.

When you shop here you miss out on the opportunity to get mugged that is apparently available at CVS.

I really liked the look & feel of the store, you can tell an effort has been made to make the pharmacy experience more pleasant - and it really works.
Also I was quite impressed with the very knowledgeable service by the pharmacist. He can tell you all there is know about the products they carry. I might be old-fashioned, but I really enjoy shopping experiences that have that friendly neighborhood feeling and where the shopkeeper really cares about the customers.

Anyway, I really liked it, and would definitely recommend it. In fact I wouldn't mind seeing more stores like this one around.

This mom & pop full service drug store. I meet the pharmacists wife the other day at fresh market. She and her husband are the real deal. We should all give them a try.

This pharmacy is more in tune with the Grove and sets a good example for other businesses in the Grove area. My wife and I both shop there if we think they have something we need.

It was truly a new experience! I think we are all so used to the CVS/Walgreens that we forget that a pharmacy CAN have real service and can actually feel inviting! The selection of products is unique and not overpriced. I bought some great greeting cards and an organic perfume made by monks for my wife!

This place rocks. it's original, has a European feel with friendly owners to boot. Never thought a pharmacy could become a destination.

Finally, after 39 years in the medical business I realized this is a differentan brand. It is an "old style" pharmacy with a modern look and a superb service. I decided to switch all my prescriptions here, and proved right. I cannot recommend it enough. This is the personalized service we all need.
