Bring out the M*A*S*H signs; the tourists need 'em

There always seems to be someone looking at the signs up on the big poles at Mayfair, looking for places in the whole Grove, not just Mayfair. I think those signs may be outdated anyway, there is actually a pay phone behind one of the poles.

The signs never take anyone to where they want to go and Paul, the sunglasses guy, or I usually step in and ask people if they need help. They usually do and we hand them one of the Grove maps and then show them where things are.

One visitor asked for Commodore Plaza. Since it's not part of Mayfair, it is not on the sign at Mayfair. And I'm sure that someone on Commdore Plaza looking for Mayfair can't find that either.

This is a reason to have the M*A*S*H signs. We need these at all major intersections. They add color, are fun and will actually serve a purpose. Maybe the Grove map could be attached to the pole in some way, and people can pick up a map as they figure out where things are in the village.

I think this is a good idea. With the Grove's village-like atmosphere, it would be a natural addition.

I agree very helpful, I actually had problems my first time and Paul help me. He was so nice and helpful I was almost caught off guard. But that is what I like about the grove!

Why don't we just past big maps on each side of the black "tourist information kiosks" ? Waterproof of course. Probably 8ft x 8 ft would be my suggested size. Then the city would save on the salaries of the many live tourist info people who man the booths 7 days a week during the tourist hours, 10 am to late night ?

Cool idea. Maybe to put some humor into it would be sweet. Key West.... Greenwich Village.....Brooklyn.....

It is a great idea, you have asked for this before, now obviously those responsible to create such an improvement are either not paying attention or they do not know. It would be fun and revealing to see how long it would actually take our local authorities to respond to a petition for such an improvement. I promise it will be at least one year. Let's see.
