The brick sidewalks look so much nicer now

I thought they were redoing the brick sidewalks for Pow Wow, but these guys told me that they were redoing the wiring for the new street lights.

Either way, the sidewalks look so much better when the bricks are reset. They said it was quite a puzzle getting this perfect, but it's worth the effort.

They recently re-did the bricks over on mary and oak. It was a freaking deathtrap, and nearly guaranteed a twisted ankle if you weren't paying attention

Power Wash all the bricks would go a long way. Early in the morning is the best time. Trying to figure out how to keep the homeless from hanging around the tree by the old Starbucks. Any ideas??

Ive seen these small yellow boxes painted on the side of the street, I think in Orlando maybe... anyway they are designated pan handling boxes. "No loitering" signs are posted around and thats the only place one can ask for money and/or stay in one place. So they must keep moving if they're on the sidewalk or in the "public eye". The homeless and the lazy ARE a bigbig problem in the grove. A solution to this epidemic would be a great thing for the village and surrounding neighborhoods. I guess it will be different in about 10-15 years, when Grand ave is completely re-developed.

How to keep the vagrants away from the tree- tell the pizza place to stop feeding them and making it acceptable for them to hang around outside of their business bothering the guests walking by.

Yeah, lets tell a restaurant to stop feeding the hungry, and tell them to get lost! And if they don't comply, lets arrest them for being poor. That way, we can make it just like the Gables or Pinecrest- the way we want it.

I agree fully. We as a community need to be more accepting of those who are struggling. Everyone is quick to blame, but just you wait til you are laid off and cannot find a job, then we'll spit in your face and tell you that you are worthless. People are so closed-minded and love to live in their bubble.

Liberals. Typical of them to rather coddle the homeless than care about the rest of us who are trying to enjoy the grove. It's not hard to determine why businesses are closing here. Priorities, people.

Its not the homeless that are the problem all the time but the crack head criminals, they are a bigger threat... And its the lazy, they expect a free hand out and then curse you out and threaten to break into your car if you dont help. They dont want to work at all. They want your change, not the food you want to give them. All that change adds up to $5.00, Just enough for a good buzz. Be it heroin, crack or just plain beer, thats where your change goes. Believe me. I see it every day.

Have compassion. No one should be refused a meal in this over consumptive country.

For all of you saying "give them a break"- sit them in front of YOUR house so they can beg for money to buy liquor and then berate all of your guests entering your home after they get wasted. THAT is the issue, not whether or not we feed them. Get out of YOUR bubble until you have to deal with these issues daily.
