A little Village gossip . . .

AnnaMaria and I walked over to the Bookstore to get some coffee this morning and just as I said, "I wonder how Felice is doing, I know she's been sick," there popped up Felice!

We were thrilled to see her back. Tonight was to be the Bookstore's one year anniversary celebration but that is postponed until next week. But the great news was seeing Felice back where she belongs.

I was at the gym across the street from The Bookstore a while later and someone came up behind me singing in my ear. It was ZuZu! Remember ZuZu from the hair salon and women's gym? He works out at the Shaq 24 Hour Fitness gym sometimes and he now owns a new gym called 804 Fitness, off of Sunset Drive in South Miami.

I saw Dave Collins' car parked on the street, so I had to run over to the BIC (BID?) office and congratulate him on his BID success yesterday. I had pictured him with champagne and sure enough he said that was the case. Antoinette Baldwin and Nathan Kurland were the first to pop the corks the second the count was completed and the party began.

He says it was an easy count, they saw one big pile of paper growing that signified "yes" and a shorter pile that signified "no." The official total will be in on Monday.

I stopped by the Farmer's Market, even though I hate their prices. But I'm addicted to their coconut water, so I pay the price. It's mobbed as usual. Sunny days bring out the organic food shoppers, rainy days are better for those who don't like crowds -- the organic shoppers don't shop at the Farmer's Market when it rains. Interesting. There is some weird paradox about organic, rain and the healthy organic people avoiding the rain, but I can't put it together in my head yet.

I'm off to Basil in the Grove for lunch. See you there . . .
