New Starbucks makes its debut
The place is all new and clean and really enjoyable. The staff spent all day yesterday moving things from across the street.
There is plenty of seating inside and out. In fact, there are so many tables outside and so many windows, that the whole experience is so bright and cheery. I didn't realize how dark the old place was -- cozy, but dark.
CocoWalk is crawling with people today. I don't know if it is Starbucks or the incredible weather. The humidity seems so low this late afternoon and it's more like spring than summer.

So those of you crying over Starbucks? We're losing three of our four and it wouldn't bother me a bit if the fourth one closed.
That's the formula for Starbucks. Open so many stores that it puts the Mom and Pops out of business, then shut down as many Starbucks until it turns a profit. No competition, all Starbucks. People that work there? Oh well. Its all about the money.
Sometimes i get so tired of all the "succesful business are evil stick" Starbucks offers better benefits to its employees then just about anyone else in that industry. You can obtain full health benifits, get stock options and even support for childcare if you work 20 hour or more. They also provide far higher prices and better benefits to the people picking the coffee across the world and invest in those communities as well.
Maybe all that justifies the high prices they charge.
It is an excersize of your free will not to go in and pay some stupidly inflated price for do-it-yourself coffee. I know I don't
I, however, also don't see any mom and pops around. Every other place -hmmm-- also seems to be a business intent on making money, sometimes with worse service, sometimes with better service.
And --heavens!-- they all seem to charge some exorbitant amount for coffee (and the right to sit down)
I don't particularly like Starbucks, but, what makes them evil incarnate? They seem to pay and treat their baristas well.
too claustrophobic, not cozy as the previous one, but it is clean. Is new/modern always better?.....
Employees that get laid off don't get benefits.
No homeless problem anymore, the Coco Walk Security keep them moving. New furniture, well done Starbucks. Coco Walk is really swinging now!
