Come back people; parking is free!

As you know, parking is free at the post office (30 minutes worth) until the end of the parking lot project. But many times during the day, there is not anyone there to use the parking now. I think everyone just got so frustrated that they ended going to the Gables post office or the one near 17th Avenue on Coral Way.

At times it is still impossible to get a parking spot, but for the most part, it's not so bad.

Just the other day, one of the people who works in the post office hand delivered an overnight letter to my house. In a nasty lightening storm no less! It wasn't a mail carrier, it was one of the people who works the counter at the post office. Guess they have a lot of time on their hands these days and they are sending the counter staff out to deliver things now, too.

Tom,

I can't stand the Grove PO. They have continued to reduce services.

The stamp machine, the parking lot, and now the letter scale is removed.

I went there last week and there were 10 people in line. I went off to Publix, came back, and their were at least 10 (new) people in line.

Management is NEVER around. There is no concern for the customer there. Free parking only came about after people raised holy heck.

The Coral Gables PO has a scale that you can use 24 hours a day, pay for postage, apply it to your letter OR small box, and send it on its way. Oh, and it has reasonable free parking and street parking.

I think we should tear down the PO at this point. They do not care about their customers (except maybe to hand carry your letter that day!).

Yes, I'm venting. I'm really frustrated by our PO, if you couldn't tell.

Sotto
