It happened at the Sandbar Sports Grill
Anyway, I was there and this woman walked in off the street, she looked homeless. She went behind the bar and put her hands in the limes and olives, grabbing at them. One of the girls who worked there asked what she wanted and she asked for ice, so they gave her ice and she walked out.
Then, an amazing thing happened. The bartender threw out every cut lime and all the olives. She complained about having to re-cut all the limes, there were quite a bit, but she actually dumped them all with the olives because the lady had put her hands in them.
I found this to be a unique situation because how many places would do this? I just thought it was a nice, caring and cleanly thing to do. I felt confident that they pass their health inspections without any problems.
I forgot to use my Code 33 card, but they do accept it there.

Wow, that is rare and definitely noteworthy. I used to do the 1/2 price tacos on Mondays but I got food poisoning twice from there and that put an end to that. I do occasionally go for the Club Wrap though which is always good.
would have been even nicer if she gave the homeless woman the limes and olives that she was going to throw out anyway...oh well...but you're right, it was definitely hygenic of her to toss them.
I will try the fajitas though:-)
"would have been even nicer if she gave the homeless woman the limes and olives"
Ummmm... actually, no.
It was nice that she didn't make the homeless women pay for the limes and olives that she ruined. That lady had no business being in there, let alone reaching behind the counter. Thankfully (for the homeless lady) the cost of those limes and olives will be passed on to the consumers or absorbed by Sandbar.
The employee who threw out the limes and olives never saw the woman. She was told after the woman left and she then dumped the stuff. So she never had the opportunity to offer the items.
But when the woman asked for ice, they did accommodate her with ice and a cup.
While we (myself included) all discuss this situation of the limes and olives, we could be doing something more productive.
Like anything. LOL.
Its a pretty sad state of affairs when it is surprising and noteworthy that the limes and olives were thrown out. I mean, those hands were probably just rumaging through a trash can. I can't see that there was really any reasonable choice but to throw them away. What would have been shocking is if they would have served them...well, actually it wouldn't have been that surprising.
I knew I liked that place for a reason...
Hey! That was me. And I'm not homeless. I was just hungry. I don't even like olives - I really just wanted the limes. I think I was a little drunk and my coordination was off. Sorry about that.
PS. I had washed my hands over at Cocowalk before I went into Sandbar.
ha ha ha that bartender is my g/f
