Public eyesore

From the Greening of Commodore Plaza to this. Why is one end of the Grove so nice and the other end always a mess. This Pod is a total eyesore. It's a shame that guests at the Mayfair Hotel have to exit the front door and see this a half block away.

Also this freakin' condo project has screwed up some good parking spaces for a year or more, is this Pod renter feeding the parking meter?

Since when can a pod be placed on the roadway - they belong in yards, driveways, or on pivate property. This is an awful precedent.

LOL, I think the Pod is the nicest thing in the picture. The building is hideous! Just like the two on 27th and Bird this one is inspired by its lack of inspiration.

I wish we could get some good buildings in the central grove.

I totally agree this project has been going on way to long and was supposed to be completed a year ago and keeps getting pushed farther back it is also built really cheap!!

Bob Coultas is right.

The Pod is the nicest thing in the picture. Unfortunately, the Grove has no architectural board to make recommendations to builders.

Why is this so? Because Coconut Grove is in the City Of Miami. Coconut Grove needs to secede and be it's own city!

I thought the same thing. If this was the Gables it wouldn't happen. But since it's the City of Miami, anything goes.

I dont think the building design is that bad. SOme parts of it are rather appealing in my opinion. THe POD is gross though and you bring up a good point - I hope the person who put it there is paying the meter (I doubt it). I also agree that this project has taken WAY too long. South Miami has a parking structure that went up in no time (and a great idea/addition to the neighborhood).

Code enforcement has fined me for putting out tree branches a day before pick up and right after a major hurricane and they are allowing this?

Nothing doing!

The pod was placed there illegally without a permit and no permit should ever even be given for a pod on a public street. It was reported to Code and removed today - Monday - by 1pm. Remember to use 311 for any code violations you see around the Grove. The audacity of these people to think they could put a pod on one of our streets and take up valuable parking spaces.

Would someone please tell the management of that building at 27th and Tigertail to paint that building something other than that horrible blue. Why not a pale aquamarine? Anything that makes it more obscure. And that horrible brown building at 27th Ave and Bird. We're going to streetscape 27th Ave. and have to live with those eyesores.
