Grand Avenue developments are stalled
Julio Marrero can't seem to make it work, he is insisting on raising height limits from five stories to maybe 12, but the Village Council will not allow it. The Herald has the story here.

I KNOW THIS IS NOT PC. BUT I'D RATHER SEE NEW CONDOS ON GRAND AVE THEN A BUNCH OF DRUG DEALERS AND TENEMENTS.
New construction is not a solution to drug dealers and tenements... but I know you already know this deep down in the recesses of your slumbering conscience.
Call to mind the movie "Trading Places".
Have you ever wondered how well you might fare given the same adversity and social chaos many of these people are born into? You should never throw people away as you would refuse (as in trash), even figuratively.
Besides who do you think these so-called drug dealers deal to but the very same white collar professionals who live in such condos. Maybe a rehab center would be more appropriate - let's get to the root of the problem.
I'm glad the development is stalled. The Oak trees get to live to another day, and the good people of West Grove who are being displaced get a little more breathing room.
