Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden features author Emma Marris in this month's Fairchild Lecture Series, on Wednesday, January 7 at 7 pm.
Emma is author of "Rambunctious Garden: Saving Nature in a Post-Wild World," she will talk about how there is virtually no untouched wilderness on earth. This amazing realization, which initially seems sad, actually frees up the use of new and exciting approaches to saving species, ecosystems and even wildness.
The lecture will weave in examples of how these ideas play out in the private garden and how even a window box can help. Book signing to follow talk. Tickets for the Fairchild Lecture Series are included with Garden admission - $25 for non-members and free for Fairchild members.
The event is hosted byFairchild Palms, the Garden's young professional support group.
