Big splash in the Grove -- up, up on the roof

Today was a hot, hot day -- a perfect day for a pool and right on schedule, the Mayfair Hotel pool arrived.
Virginia Street was a spectacle as huge trucks arrived and reinforced themselves for the actual pool lift to the roof.

The town came out today, to experience a really unique thing.

Finally, after all these years, the Mayfair Hotel has a pool. On the roof!

It reminds me of that "Sex and the City" episode where they are up on the hotel roof enjoying the exclusive environment. I can't wait to get up there and check the pool and the views when the whole installation is complete.

The skilled workers did an incredible job. Now the final installation takes place atop the hotel, out of site.

Next, the designers move in and turn the concrete shell into a paradise.

You do know that there was a pool on the roof before. I believe it had blue tile. There was a bar too. And the view, before the Sonesta was built, was to die for. The parking on the next roof also had a great view. I wonder if you can still park up there?

They put a swimming pool on the top of the Mayfair and this post gets no comments. There's a post with a piece of McDonald's chicken on the ground and it gets a half dozen posts. Go figure.

Now the Sonesta Hotel Condo has the Best Drop Dead View in Coconut Grove. The Eighth Floor Restaurant is by far the best kept secret in the Grove. The food and drinks are sweet but the view is totally our of control. We bring all our special friends there for Lunch & Dinner. This restaurant has the real WOW appeal. Check it out, but dont tell all your friends....Nikki Grove is also fun as a backup for Dinner & Drinks. Sorry Mayfair

This will be a great place for Sarnoff and Arriola to meet once the State's Attorney is able to get him back here!
