Ribbon cuttings and tree lighting on Saturday
There is a ribbon cutting at Grove Heritage Mini Park from 10 am to noon. This Christmas celebration commemorates the renovations of the park at 3275 Margaret Street.
The event features a Gingerbread Village and Candy Cane Hunt, there will be a book giveaway in partnership with Bookleggers.
Then if you're up for another ribbon cutting, the Canine Christmas Event is at Blanche Park (3045 Shipping Avenue). Blanche Park is reopening Saturday. This event is from 2 to 4 pm.
Stop by for some doggie treats and take a holiday selfie with your dog.
There's another Christmas tree lighting event on Saturday, this one is at Grand and Douglas.
Stop by from 6 to 8 pm and enjoy caroling and treats.
City Commissioner Ken Russell and County Commissioner Xavier Suarez will do the countdown for the tree lighting. Commissioner Russell will be at all three of these event - it will be a busy day for him.
