It's Mad Hatter weekend at The Barnacle

Fall down the rabbit hole this weekend. It's Mad Hatter time!

The 15th Annual Mad Hatter Arts Festival takes over The Barnacle on Saturday and Sunday, November 23 and 24. Enjoy art and music inside and out, as the festival starts on the streets surrounding The Barnacle.

Artists with works in all types of media, including art and hand-crafted items, as well as select dealers of vintage, antique, repurposed items, and collectibles, and plants will be showing and selling from 11 am to 5 pm both days. It's a taste of "the old Grove."

Look for fancy and big hats and check around for Alice in Wonderland walking around the park. Enjoy games and crafts. Wear your zaniest hat and compete for prizes in a hat contest. Join the Mad Hatter's Tea Party. Sample tasty treats and beverages and shop for antique and collectible items in the Vintage Marketplace.

As always, live music is a special part of the festival with Charlie Rathburn and Velleese performing Saturday from 10 am to noon, Zip Robertson and Strings Attached from noon to 2 pm, and Laurie Jennings and Keith Johns from 2 to 5 pm. Sunday’s performers include Velleese from 10 am to noon, Neil & Von and Solar Dogs from noon to 2 pm, and Will Thomas, Marquise Fair, and the Coconut Grove Drum Circle from 2 to 5 pm.

Bike Coconut Grove will be parking bikes with their Bike Valet service all weekend along the walkway toward the bay on the right just before you get to the main house. The bike valet is free.

The night before, on November 22,  a special under-the-stars screening of the 1951 Disney classic film Alice in Wonderland on the grounds of The Barnacle starts at 8 pm.

The Barnacle is located at 3485 Main Highway.
