The Grove Christmas tree lighting and festivities

Celebrate the spirit of the holiday season with friends, family, and neighbors in Coconut Grove. On Sunday, December 8 from 3 to 7 pm, the Grove’s Commodore Plaza will close to cars and transform into a winter wonderland pedestrian promenade for the Grove’s 7th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Organized by the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District (BID), join Santa in his cabin for photos; wander through the pop-up Holiday Village featuring miniature replicas of beloved local restaurants and retailers including Ariete, Taurus, Warby Parker, and Barracuda; vote for your favorite store-front decoration; listen to a variety of musical performances ranging from traditional Bahamian music to local jazz band, Strings Attached; watch performances by the Coconut Grove Ballet and Miami Conservatory of Music; and join Olaf the Snowman for face painting,  ornament decorating, and temporary tattoos at the Miami Kids Magazine’s Family Fun Zone.

The festivities will culminate with the official tree lighting ceremony led by Chairman of the Coconut Grove BID and Miami Commissioner Ken Russell. The evening will conclude with the donation of dozens of Christmas trees to local families in need.

The event is free to the public and sponsors include Miami Kids Magazine, Cocowalk, Schwartz Media Strategies, the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, Shell Lumber, One Park Financial, and the Coconut Grove BID.

This is on Commodore Plaza between Grand Avenue and Main Highway.
