The Fairchild condo has been put on notice

Remember this petition about the noise and dust complaint regarding The Fairchild condo? Well the city has denied their future Noise Waivers. They are now confined to regular construction hours - Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm, which seems like plenty of time to make their noise and mess.

I think the Saturday hours should be eliminated in neighborhoods or at least shortened. But anyway, it's nice to see the City is cracking down due to the petition and complaints from the neighbors.

Now if they can stop the non-stop street closures caused by The Fairchild. Do we need to start a petition for that?

Thank you! It took about 15 calls to the police when they were working out of hours, including Sundays and evenings (no results), many visits to the building department and to the Coconut Grove NET, and some unsuccessful attempts to talk to the people in charge of the building (they basically laughed on our faces and one of them even was verbally abusive). But thanks to this petition and the enormous support of the neighborhood, the petition was successful. I only hope they now respect the legal working hours (10 hours a day, 6 days a week! It should be enough) and most of anything, I really hope this petition will be useful for other people affected by crazy building hours.
