The New Paradigm in Retirement Savings

Gary Polk will be the guest speaker at the June 28 Coconut Grove Rotary Luncheon, Gary is founder and president of Strategic Wealth Advisors, a financial services organization. He is also a member and instructor for The Society for Financial Awareness, a non-profit corporation with a mission to end financial illiteracy. He offers free financial workshops providing added value to businesses, organizations and employees.

Gary will be speaking on The New Paradigm in Retirement Planning, a shift from traditional thinking about saving for retirement. Rather than focusing primarily on rate of return, the new paradigm focuses instead on strategies that provide competitive returns, safety, financial leverage, tax reduction, lifetime income, and protection from government regulation and the high cost and probability of needing some form of extended care. 

A native of South Florida, he graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in accounting. For the past 32 years, he has worked in the financial services industry. He is a CPA and holds the following professional designations: Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant and Certified in Long-Term Care. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Weston.

The Rotary Club of Coconut Grove meets every Thursday at the Coconut Grove Sailing Club, 2990 South Bayshore Drive at 12:30 pm. The cost of the meeting is $25 with lunch or $10 without lunch.
