Art in the Heart of the Grove
The Sonesta hotel is featuring artist RC Bailey at a champagne reception on Saturday, June 2 from 7 to 10 pm.
RC Bailey presents a new direction in his paintings, combining the extraordinary details created by the use of scratch board with traditional old masters' techniques. The resulting images are richly surfaced and intensely luminous, imbuing contemporary subjects with vintage-like quality of earlier more elegant times.
The Sonesta is at 2889 McFarlane Road.
Also, on June 2, the Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery is presenting the 46th annual spring Watercolor exhibition.
The Watercolor Society takes over the gallery to present is best of water media paintings created by members representing a wide range of techniques from experimental to traditional paintings.
Enjoy a colorful array of water color artists and meet them at his yearly event.
The gallery is at the Mayfair Atrium.
Both events are from 7 to 10 pm.
