Would Commodore Plaza work like Giralda Plaza?
Giralda Avenue now has a section called Giralda Plaza, in Coral Gables. There are so many restaurants on that one block that it seemed only natural. It is now wide, and bright and full of life. It feels very European and South American.
Years ago, we had block parties on Commodore Plaza here in the Grove and it was a bit similar in that restaurants had tables brought out to the street. This is how Giralda Plaza is, the tables sort of flow into each other and restaurants meld into each other.
Lunchtime has a lively crowd, the office workers come out and mix and mingle and all seem to know each other from this daily ritual. We had lunch there yesterday and we met lawyers, designers, bankers and so many others who do this daily.
Commodore Plaza might work this way, too. There are so many new office workers in the Grove now and so many restaurants on Commodore Plaza.

It would be great. What is more, shoul be expsnded. All North Italian cities close about 2 to four blocks to all transit and create beautiful spaces for walking, restaurants an shops. The Grove should imitate this.
We should close off even more. I would like to see more traffic routed towards US 1.
.....and just exactly where are the parking spaces going to be?
Have you tried parking at the ancient garages behind the Mile?
It's not fun. .....and how long it's taken to do that so-called improvement to the Mile thereby. hurting the businesses terribly.

Seems to me that every time someone tries to change the Grove to resemble someplace else, the Grove come one step closer in no longer being the Grove. Not that the idea doesn't have merit, I just wish everyone would leave the Grove alone and let it be what it is. I guess, especially with the influx of office buildings, the Grove is already on its way to being something quite different.
